What photos work for a Smalltown Boy AI dance video?
Updated:
Short answer
Use two photos: one clear photo for the Lead and one for the Partner. Each shows a single subject facing the camera, as a JPG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB, between 300 and 6000 pixels per side. Blurry, masked or group photos do worst.

Technical limits
- Accepted formats: JPG, PNG or WebP.
- File size: up to 10 MB per photo.
- Dimensions: more than 300 and fewer than 6000 pixels on each side.
- Shape: a width-to-height ratio between 0.4 and 2.5, so no extreme panoramas or strips.
- Both photos are required, one per role, and two different subjects work best.
What looks best
- Soft, even light and a crisp subject.
- The face or front turned toward the camera, with eyes and mouth visible.
- One subject per photo and a plain or uncluttered background.
- For pets, a close, front-facing shot at eye level.
- For toys and drawings, a clear shot of the whole figure.
What to avoid
- Two subjects in one photo, since the model might lock onto the wrong one.
- Sunglasses, masks, hands over the face or heavy beauty filters.
- Screenshots with buttons or captions across the picture.
- Celebrities and well-known copyrighted characters.
Rules about people and characters

Questions people ask
Which box takes which photo?
The first box is the Lead, who screams at the lens first. The second is the Partner, who dances behind. The Swap photos button trades them.
Is a selfie fine?
Yes, when it is sharp and well lit and the whole face is in the frame without cropping.
A photo was rejected. What next?
A message under the upload box names the problem, such as size, format or shape. Fix it and upload again; a rejected photo costs nothing.
