What do you actually do in the Spooky Scary Skeletons dance?
Updated:
Short answer
Four parts. A hop with a knee kick and a leg swing, a bouncy half-squat with stiff skeleton elbows pumping to the beat, shoulder shimmies and hip shakes, then stomping steps and one arm raised. Here it lasts roughly 11 seconds, and Tip Toe AI performs it from a single photo.

Moves in sequence
- The kick: one-foot hop, other knee up, and a sideways swing of that leg.
- Skeleton elbows: squat low and wide, lift both elbows level with your shoulders and thrust the chest forward on each beat.
- Shimmy and shake: shimmy your shoulders, swing your hips from side to side and let your hands slide down your body.
- The finish: stomping and swaying, a knee swung over the body, then one arm flung up.
Filming it yourself
Rest your phone low on the ground, step back until you fit completely in the frame and don't move the camera. Slow the sound down while you practise, and a few takes are usually enough.
Not feeling like dancing?
Tip Toe AI can do the same moves with your face and a vampire cape instead. The generator opens with a free preview, so it costs nothing to see.
Questions people ask
Is it a hard dance to learn?
Not at all. A kick, the skeleton elbows and hip shakes repeat in a short loop. Part of the humour is keeping it stiff with a deadpan face.
Does the AI clip match every step?
Nearly. The order and timing are the same, but AI motion is never an exact copy, and runs differ slightly.
What makes the dance return every October?
Its song is a Halloween staple, and the dance returns alongside it each year as a seasonal trend.
